How Maya Handles Your Health Data

This page is a plain-language summary, not a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. Maya is an early-stage product and has not yet completed a formal legal and compliance review. We're not making specific legal or certification claims here — a complete, attorney-reviewed privacy and HIPAA notice will replace this page once that work is done. What Maya collects

Information you choose to log or connect, including:

Glucose readings, medications, meals, activity, sleep, and stress logs
Basic account information (name, email)
Any device or app you choose to connect

How it's used

Your data is used to generate the insights and pattern recognition Maya shows you directly — the same data you logged, reflected back in a way that's meant to help you understand it. Producing those insights involves sending relevant data to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the explanation you see. It is not used to train public AI models, and is not sold to anyone.

Your control over sharing

Beyond generating your own insights, any further sharing — for community features or anonymized research contribution — is off by default and opt-in per category (glucose, meals, activity, stress, medication). You can change these choices at any time in your account settings, and every grant or change is logged.

Security measures in place today

Encrypted data transmission and storage
Row-level access controls, so your data is only accessible to you
A full audit log of when and how your data is used or shared
Hosted on established cloud infrastructure providers
